Ricoh has announced a new addition to the CX family of compact cameras. The new Ricoh CX5 will be the new successor to the Ricoh CX4 which was released last year. The new CX5 keeps the tradition of the CX line of offering some new features with every new model but not changing up the body styling.
The new CX5 adds a speedier Auto-Focus system than the preceding CX4, Ricoh claims the new Hybrid AF system –which uses a distance sensor with contrast detection– has brought the focus speed down to two-tenths of a second for the new CX5. Lastly the new CX5 has some new preset mode; named continuous golf swing, Cooking and Fireworks. Ricoh will be offering their new CX5 in Black, Pink and Silver. The CX5 will start at to be available in Japan starting on February 10th and availability else-where will start in mid-February.
