A new Sony Cyber-Shot has been exposed to the world ahead of it’s launch today. The Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX100V is going to be the official name for the new extended zoom once released by Sony at a later date. The camera wasn’t if you’ve been following included in the torrent of announcements published at the earlier this month –the HX7V, TX100V and WX9.
The camera of focus for this post will feature lots of the same types of features as the other camera detailed earlier this month. From the info gathered by thirdidigital.com the HX100V will ship with a 16.2 MP EXMOR R CMOS sensor, BIONZ imaging processor, 30x optical zoom (27-810mm 35mm equiv.) Carl Zeiss Vario Sonnar T lens with Hi-speed Auto-Focus (AF) technology.
The sensor is that the details show is going to be the new sensors that Sony will be using in all their higher-end cameras. The EXMOR R CMOS sensor is a Sony branded back-illuminated CMOS sensor, back-illuminated sensors use updated sensor design techniques that offer among other things images with less noise and better low-light shooting results.
The Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX100V will also feature Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixel resolution) video recording, 3D Panorama shooting SD/SDHC/SDXC/Memory Stick support and built-in GPS with Compass for precise Geo-tagging. Of course is Sony decides on Monday to release an official press release detailing this camera we’ll be sure to update you, but for now the info just detailed is all that is known.
