Olympus XZ-1: The Best New Compact Out There

Do you want a competitive compact camera? Try the new Olympus XZ-1. One of the most reliable sources when it comes to camera info, Digital Photography Review, evaluated it and called it as “the best photographers’ compact currently available.” So, what great features does it have to be labeled as such?
First of all the Olympus XZ-1 is a 10-megapixel CCD camera that has a 28-112mm f1.8-2.5 lens. Its lens is capable of superb combination of range and brightness enabling it to capturing superb images. The ISO range of 100-6,400 helps a lot as well. Continuous shooting yields 2fps and 23JPEG/8 raw.

Taking pictures in low-light conditions is not a problem as well because this camera comes with an AF illuminator. But aside from still shots, the Olympus XZ-1 is also capable of capturing 720p/30p Motion JPEG AVI. Reviewing photos and videos is possible with the 3-inch fixed OLED display.

Charging this compact camera is done through USB charging. Although this marks a change for the camera, it makes it’s not so convenient when charging a backup battery. Another very convenient feature of the Olympus XZ-1 is the easy manual dials that will allow photographers to adjust the camera’s settings as they see fit!
